Cameroon coach makes dramatic U-turn on Nigeria

Cameroon coach Hugo Broos has made a stunning U-turn ahead of the clashs with Nigeria today.

Despite already admitting they lost to a better side on Friday, Cameroon coach Hugo Broos has made a dramatic U-turn by claiming his team’s 4-0 collapse in Nigeria was a fluke and the African champions will now play for national pride when both teams clash again in Yaounde today.

Broos said he did not have his full team in Nigeria.

“Our defeat in Nigeria was a mistake. And we did not have the full complement of our team,” the Belgian coach lamented.

“We will give our best in tomorrow’s (today) game and play for pride.

“I expect a difficult game, but we are ready.”

The Super Eagles top their qualifying group with nine points from three matches, while Zambia are now second on four points.

Cameroon have two points to be third with Algeria bottom of the standings on a point.
