WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) - Tropical Storm Jose formed over the Atlantic Ocean Tuesday, making it the 10th tropical storm of the season, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).

The NHC says TS Jose has maximum sustained winds of over 40 mph and is moving at 13 mph.

Although there are no coastal watches or warnings in effect, officials say the Leeward Islands should monitor the future progress of TS Jose.

The storm is predicted to strengthen within the next 48 hours and could become a hurricane by Friday, the NHC said.
