Major General David Ahmadu, the Nigerian Army Chief of Training and Operations, on Friday at the Army Headquarters in Abuja announced the commencement of a 30-days military exercise name Operation Python Dance II (aka Exercise Egwu Eke II).

The exercise will tackle major security challenges facing the South-East region of Nigeria including violent agitations, assassinations, banditry and other security challenges in the Igbo states.

According to the Army, the operation will commence on Friday, September 15 to Saturday, October 14.

The army therefore urges the residence of the south-eastern states (Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states) not to panic but however cooperate with the army.
